Who We Are
The Pebble App helps parents and families encourage positive habits and behaviours through tasks, rewards and family participation.
Information We Collect
Adult account information
- Name
- Email address
- Country
- What your children call you (your relationship label within the Family Circle)
- Authentication information, including the sign-in provider used (email and password, Google or Apple)
- Your account identifier
- Family Circle membership and role (for example owner or member)
- Notification preferences
- Subscription and entitlement information
Child and family information provided by adults
- Child name
- Avatar and visual preferences
- Age band
- Sex selection
- Behaviours and Pebble activity
- Jars and jar balances
- Rewards and reward titles
- Habit Focus selections and progress
- Relationship labels for the adults in the Family Circle
- Momentum, timeline and history records
Pebble accounts are for adults. Children do not create Pebble accounts and do not sign in. All child information is supplied and managed by the adults in a Family Circle, who can edit or remove it in the app.
We deliberately collect an age band rather than a child's date of birth, and sex is collected only as the limited selection currently offered in the app. This demographic information is used to understand how the product is used and to support analysis and product development.
Product, research and technical information
- First-party product analytics recording in-app interaction events
- Which Learn articles have been read
- Feedback you choose to submit in the app
- Aggregated cohort and product-analysis information derived from the above
- Email addresses submitted to the waitlist on our website
- Responses to our HelpShape research questionnaire, including optional first name, contact email and interview opt-in where offered
- Functional technical information such as browser or user-agent details where applicable
Children's Information
Adults in a Family Circle may create profiles for children. Children do not have their own Pebble accounts or sign-in credentials. We only collect the information needed to provide the service. Adults remain responsible for information entered about children and may edit or delete it at any time. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate the app
- Manage Family Circles and memberships
- Track behaviours, jars, rewards and progress
- Manage subscriptions and entitlements
- Send transactional emails such as account and welcome emails
- Understand product usage and improve app performance, reliability and design
- Respond to support requests and feedback
- Maintain security and prevent misuse
- Meet legal obligations
Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable, we process personal information under one or more of the following legal bases: contractual necessity, legitimate interests, legal obligations and user consent.
How Information Is Stored
We use trusted third-party service providers to host and process data. Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information from unauthorised access, disclosure or loss.
Service Providers We Use
The Pebble App currently uses the following providers, each processing information only as necessary to deliver their service:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Vercel — website and API hosting
- RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement management
- Apple — App Store payments and Sign in with Apple where used
- Google — Google sign-in where used, and web font delivery on our website
- Resend — transactional email delivery
Our in-app product analytics are first-party: events are stored in our own database rather than being sent to a third-party advertising or analytics platform.
Advertising And Tracking
We do not use your information for cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking, and the current product contains no advertising SDKs. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with data brokers.
Our product analytics record a controlled set of event types rather than arbitrary free-text payloads. Account or child identifiers may be associated with those events where that is needed to understand how the product is used.
Cookies And Device Storage
We use strictly functional first-party storage only. This includes session and authentication storage, a first-party pebble_sess cookie used where a web or installed-app session needs to be handed over between contexts, and local or session storage used for application functionality, queued analytics events and diagnostics.
These are not advertising cookies and are not cross-site trackers.
Website, Waitlist And Research
Visitors to our website may submit an email address to join the waitlist, and may voluntarily complete our HelpShape research questionnaire. HelpShape may include questions about family routines and behaviour challenges. Where offered, providing a first name, contact email or opting in to an interview is optional.
These website and research records are kept separately from any authenticated Pebble account. Deleting an app account therefore does not automatically delete waitlist or research records submitted independently of that account. You can contact us if you would like those records removed.
Sharing Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with the service providers listed above, if required by law, to protect users, rights or safety, or during a business transfer or acquisition.
Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
User Rights
Users may have the right to:
- Access their information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of information
- Restrict or object to processing
- Request a copy of their data
- Withdraw consent where applicable
Requests can be sent to hello@thepebble.app.
Account Deletion And Retention
You can request deletion of your account from within the app. The account and personal profile data belonging specifically to you is removed, along with your account-linked analytics, feedback and article-read records, as part of that deletion process.
If other adults remain in your Family Circle, the shared Circle data — including child profiles and family behavioural history — remains available to those adults, and where appropriate ownership of the Circle transfers to a remaining adult. Deleting one adult's account is not the same as deleting all shared family data. If your deletion results in the Circle itself being deleted, its associated family data is removed as part of that process.
Limited audit or operational records may remain where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal or compliance purposes. Providers such as Apple, RevenueCat, Resend and our hosting and database providers may also retain their own transaction, account or operational records in line with their own policies and legal requirements. We cannot guarantee that every copy is removed immediately from every system.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information but no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed as completely secure.
International Transfers
Where service providers operate internationally, information may be transferred and processed outside the UK. Appropriate safeguards will be used where required.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website where appropriate.
